Success Stories: Mohib Uddin & Innoduel

Welcome to the highlights of our Growth Hacking Internship program! ✨

We interviewed Md Mohib Uddin, a student at LAB University of Applied Sciences and a current Growth Hacking Intern at Herizon.

Mohib collaborated with Innoduel, a company that provides digital solutions to enhance engagement and decision-making processes through crowdsourcing, and here are Mohib’s thoughts on his collaboration with his company and Herizon over the past two and half months.

Here’s a highlight that Mohib shared with us:

One thing I’ve observed is how Herizon truly cares about the success and development of its interns. They don’t just place you in a company and leave you to it; they actively engage with you throughout the process, ensuring that you’re gaining valuable experiences and insights. This hands-on approach made a big difference in my internship journey and contributed significantly to my growth.

How has the collaboration been with your case company? Share your growth hacking progress, examples, learnings and observations.

My collaboration with Innoduel has been an incredible experience. From the very beginning, I was welcomed by the CEO Jussi Simolin as an integral part of the team. I found an open, innovative culture at Innoduel allowed me to explore new ideas and contribute meaningfully to our shared goals.

The first two weeks were a bit of a whirlwind for me, to be honest. I knew I wasn’t quite on the right track, and I wasn’t feeling very confident. I talked it over with the CEO, and together we set a clear target to work towards. What I appreciated most was that he didn’t push anything on me; instead, we set our goals through team discussions, with everyone’s input considered.

One of the primary goals I set for myself was to improve and refine Innoduel's digital marketing methods to drive development. By examining the social media platforms of Innoduel (Facebook and LinkedIn) we found out that it was not active. I took the initiative to launch and activate the Facebook page. I discovered ways to enhance our targeting and messaging. For example, we experimented with individualized email campaigns and bespoke LinkedIn content that addressed our target audience's specific pain concerns. These efforts resulted in a noteworthy boost in engagement and conversion rates, which helped to build a better online presence and attract more quality prospects.

How has the collaboration been with Herizon? Share examples, learnings and observations.

My collaboration with Herizon has been incredibly positive and enriching. From the start, I felt supported and encouraged to explore new opportunities and take on challenges. Herizon provided me with the tools and resources I needed, and they were always there to offer guidance whenever I faced obstacles.

Herizon supported my placement at Innoduel, which was a crucial example of our effective partnership. They verified that my abilities and aspirations were in line with the needs of the organization, laying the groundwork for a successful internship. In addition, Herizon's regular check-ins and feedback sessions helped me keep on track and enhance my performance.

The value of open communication was one of the most important lessons I learned while working at Herizon. Herizon highlighted the importance of sharing issues and asking advice, which helped me grow professionally and personally. I also learnt how to swiftly adjust to new situations and how to effectively implement growth hacking tactics in real-world circumstances. I especially want to mention here, during 4th and 6th week I got stuck somewhere and didn’t realize what to do? We have a WhatsApp group for internship communication, and I was worried about sending a text message. Then I sent a 1 to 1 text message to Jussi (CEO of Innoduel) and he immediately jumped to help me. We had a meeting outside working hours and went ahead. This gave me confidence in my team, and I learned that, wherever you need help, “Just ask” either the team or one of your colleagues.

Have you had any success cases at work that you'd want to share?

Our objective with Innoduel was to close the 1st international deal for Innoduel. It can be a foreign company or local company. We targeted the SME companies and the decision makers of the company like the CEO, Directors or Sustainability leaders. We collected 51 SME companies, and 13 consulting companies contacts. We started with sending individual emails to the company then after 1 week a follow up email. In the meantime, we were developing social media, webpages and a few downloadable materials. Unfortunately, we only got 1 response by email and that one was negative. Then we started calling the leads. We found an amazing call receiving rate. We called 48 companies, and 32 calls were answered in the first attempt.

Now the fact is, maybe we didn’t reach our objective, but I gained confidence in making marketing calls, sales calls or meeting request calls whatever way I define it. Being a foreigner and calling high professionals was quite difficult for me. But after 4-5 calls I broke the fear, felt confident. Now I feel I can make any call to an anonymous person without any hesitation.

If you would join the program again, what would you do differently as an intern? All thoughts help us to give better support to other interns.

If I got a chance to join the program again, I would take more time at the beginning to clearly define my goals and expectations for the internship. This would help me stay focused and measure my progress more effectively. Networking is not only valuable for future opportunities but also for gaining different perspectives and insights that can enhance the internship experience.

I would also keep a more detailed record of my daily learnings, challenges, and successes. This will allow me to reflect on my progress regularly and have a record of my growth that I could refer to.

Would you recommend other students to join this program as well? If yes, why?

Definitely, I would highly recommend other students to join this program.

The experience has been incredibly valuable for my professional and personal growth. The program offers a unique opportunity to work closely with industry professionals, gain hands-on experience, and apply what you’ve learned in a real-world setting. The support from the Herizon team is exceptional—they provide guidance, resources, and regular feedback to ensure you’re getting the most out of your internship.

I believe this is a golden opportunity for foreign students to incorporate themselves into Finnish business and corporate culture. It will definitely clear the confusion about stereotypes and fear about including themselves in the real business world. I always feel open, va¢lued and flexible when I work with Innoduel.

Here’s the comment of Jussi Samolin, CEO of Innoduel, about his cooperation with Mohib and Herizon:

Mohib is very self-oriented, nice and dependable as a working partner. He showed via his actions that he learned a lot. I am especially proud of how he executed the calling campaign and how he enhanced our social media presence. I really enjoy working with Mohib in all aspects.

Herizon seemed to have a strong supporting structure for interns. I like the OKR-methodology used by Herizon as it is popular amongst many companies.

Mohib, thank you for participating in our Growth Hacking Internship Program and we wish you progress and success in your current and upcoming projects! 💜
