As the warm breezes of summer embrace us, Herizon continues its mission unwaveringly. While taking a well-deserved rest, we remain committed to empowering our community members with valuable job opportunities. Here’s a snapshot of our recent impact and the latest news from Herizon.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Community members: Now at 940, up from 842 last month [Goal 2024: 2000]
  • Employed members: Reached 389, up from 334 last month
  • New jobs in 2024: 151 members have secured employment this year [Goal 2024: 200]
  • Economic impact:
    • New jobs: Contributing to €453,000 in monthly salaries [Goal 2024: €600,000]
    • Total employment: Contributing to €1.1 million in monthly salaries, up from €1 million

Viivi is a finalist of the Nordic Women in Tech Awards

Congratulations to our Head of Community and Talent Viivi Marttinen on being a finalist in the Social Impact Award category at the Nordic Women in Tech Awards.

Viivi's dedication to empowering and mentoring emerging tech talent has made a significant impact. She single-handedly arranges over 100 events annually, providing international talents with valuable activities and networking opportunities every week.

Last year alone, 133 individuals found employment thanks solely to Viivi’s efforts. Her impact and commitment to supporting immigrant employment are simply fantastic. We couldn’t achieve this without her. 💜

Herizon community member Arshia Nakazat, and our community member and Visiting Talent & Community Coordinator Daria Galina gave an interview to Helsingin Sanomat. They highlighted the importance of LinkedIn in their job search and professional integration.

Employment

This summer has been a fantastic season for hiring within our community. Many of our newly employed members have successfully leveraged LinkedIn to announce their new positions, significantly boosting their professional visibility.

  • Recent placements: Members have been employed at notable companies including Nordea, Siemens, ClimaTalk, Danfoss, Etufillari, and Konecranes. Their roles include Full stack developer, Social media coordinator, Scrum master, and Operations industrial engineer.
  • Freelancing: An increasing number of our members are venturing into freelancing and side hustling. We support these endeavors by providing guidance on light entrepreneurship, launching a sparring group for startup founders, and hiring freelancers directly through Fraction.
  • Collaborate: Interested in leveraging data-driven marketing, analytics, and growth projects? Reach out to us and engage with the talented freelancers from our community.

Events and Community

Our MoM growth % for the month was 10 %. We're still growing organically, but the scalable community acquisition tests are starting very soon.

We're excited to kick-start our season of events in August. A variety of interesting community events are on the horizon, including:

  • Weekly co-working hours: Resuming in August.
  • Finnish speaking sessions: Held every week.
  • Online networking and co-working coffee: Regular sessions to facilitate connections.
  • Company visits: Upcoming visits to MetaCore and Hive, with more events in the works.

If you represent a company that could host a coffee session for our community members and share insights about your roles and work environment, let us know. These sessions are easy to arrange and incredibly meaningful for unemployed immigrant talent who might not have had opportunities to visit companies in this country.

Expanded LinkedIn Bootcamp

Our LinkedIn Bootcamp has now expanded to Telegram, boasting over 400 members. Community members can now access our free monthly LinkedIn Bootcamp on both Discord and Telegram. Telegram has also become a hub for LinkedIn boosting, which we strongly encourage.


Product

  • ERP system development: We're currently building an ERP system to manage our Fraction projects more efficiently. This software will streamline our operations and enhance project management capabilities with our small team.
  • New rapid upskilling product line: We are developing a new training product line to complement our growth hackers and SDRs. This initiative will provide additional skills and knowledge to our community members, preparing them for various professional roles for a need we've identified.
  • Sponsorship package iteration: We are iterating our sponsorship package sales to better serve our sponsors and support our mission. If you are interested in supporting our cause, let us know. Contact us for sponsorship or talent inquiries.

ViiviGPT update

ViiviGPT is now able to guide job seeker to communicate their career highlights.

Communicating tangible career highlights significantly increases a person's employability, which is why this area is our strong focus.

Growth Hacking Internship UAS

We're scaling the program to two additional UAS (Universities of Applied Sciences) during the autumn. Over 80 students have now taken part in the program.

During the pilots, we discovered severe bottlenecks in terms of quality management, necessitating additional "how to be at work" skills alongside domain expertise to ensure high-quality experiments for the companies we serve.

We hired Senior Admin and People Coordinator Daria Galina from our community for a special project focused on improving quality. This initiative has significantly enhanced our quality standards, and we’ll be sharing exciting success stories of tangible achievements from the interns on our blog in the coming weeks.
