Pack your (figurative) bags, we’re moving the community 🧳

We’ve been building a new home for the Herizon community, and now, we’re ready to pack up and bring the fam and the furnishings to our new place! Here’s a little FAQ to help you get up to speed on what exactly is happening and when. 

TLDR; we’re moving to a new community platform, built by Herizon for Herizon. If you have something important to save from your conversations or chats on Mighty Networks, now’s the time to save them for yourself before they’re gone.

ℹ️ What is happening?

We’re starting to migrate from our community platform Mighty Networks (academy.herizon.io) where all of our events, chats and resources for community members are currently hosted. Our new destination is Herizon Portal (portal.herizon.io), a platform we’re building by ourselves.  

That said, we won’t pull the plug on Mighty Networks immediately. We’ll do the transition in phases, starting with social features like the community chats and events until everything we want to keep in safe in Herizon Portal.

🗓️ Migration schedule*

Wednesday 2.7.  / Chat migration starts

• We invite you all to join and explore our new Herizon-built community platform at portal.herizon.io (you already have access! Just sign in with your email)

What you should do:

• Once you get to Herizon Portal and test it out, feel free to share your wishes, bug you encounter, and other feedback at the Feedback chat (found in the chat tab)
• If you have connections, links, or resources you’ve kept tabs on in the community chats, now’s your time to go and save them for yourself before they’re gone 

Monday 7.7. / Event migration starts

• Events will be turned off on Mighty Networks, and you will find all chats and future events in Herizon portal going forward

Tuesday 5.8. / Chat closes on Mighty 

• Mighty Network chats will be turned off; you will not be able to see or access the chats on Mighty Networks from this point onward 

Friday 31.10. / Content migration ends

• Finishing resource migration of content (courses, articles, learning resources) to Herizon Portal, closing channels like Growth Hacking Fundamentals, Herizon resources, and Herizon Career Feed + Resources

*Some scheduled events might get delayed as we go. 

❗️Exceptions to HIP and FiWo participants

Herizon Internship Program and Herizon FiWo will have access to their private chats and channels at least until the end of August. We will post updates about channel-specific schedules on each channel in August.

💡 Expectations and disclaimers

We have decided not to replicate some features you might’ve grown accustomed to with Mighty Networks. Here’s some of the things we’re leaving behind and adding to Herizon Portal:

New with Herizon Portal

• Simpler structure that’s easier to navigate
• Event tags that allow you to view events based on filters like On-site/Remote and Weekly/One-time/Recurring 
• Easier access to your talent profile directly from Herizon Portal (we use this for sourcing talent from our community so make sure yours is up to date!)

Not available on Herizon Portal

• No mobile app, but you can use the portal by adding it to your phone’s home screen on your mobile device’s browser app (Chrome, Safari etc.)
• No separate non-chat feed for posts

Coming soon to the Herizon Portal 

• Direct message/private message feature 
• GIFs in chat 
• Chat-based coaching and job-seeking help

🤔 Why are we doing this

Here are some of the key reasons:

• The Mighty Networks has brought some confusion and challenges for our community members that we can't work around while staying on the Mighty Networks platform
• We want to create a smoother and more intuitive experience and concentrate on bringing value instead of battling with a rigid platform we have little control over
• We want to be able to build the platform, tailor-made to serve our community’s needs 

❓Questions, concerns, and feedback

If you run into issues, you can report them to: 

1. Feedback chat on Herizon Portal > navigate to portal.herizon.io > go to “Chat” from the bottom of the screen menu > Find the chat called “Feedback” 
2. By email to hello@herizon.io (response times are up to a week. Use only for matters that can’t be shared in the Feedback chat channel)

1. Save what you need from Mighty Networks like chats, links and connections 💜 Learning materials will be migrated by throughout the Fall season.
2. Go check out Herizon Portal at portal.herizon.io and save it to your phone desktop as a bookmark or favorite it to your browser.

The Herizon team is vacationing in July and gearing up to tackle the upcoming Fall season. This means that community events will take a break as well.
