Intero Integration was matched with six interns in spring 2025, students from Haaga-Helia, Metropolia, LAB, and TAMK Universities of Applied Sciences, and here are Marii’s thoughts on their collaboration over the past three months.✨

We'll start with a highlight that Marii shared with us:

I am grateful for having the opportunity to participate in the Herizon internship program, and I would participate again. The interns who joined Intero have been highly motivated, have shown a great work ethic, and most of all, fit into our team so well. Each of them contributed to Intero as fully as they could, and we all learned a lot.

What motivated your company to participate in the Herizon Internship Program (HIP)?

My biggest motivation was to bring fresh energy and ideas into our team. I wanted the interns to gain not only skills but also real startup experience, learning how to work in a diverse team, communicate with each other and with clients, and contribute to something meaningful. At the same time, it was important that they got to work on projects they felt motivated about, so we matched their strengths and interests with Intero’s goals. For me, the internship was about creating a space where both sides win: interns gain valuable networks, knowledge, and confidence, while Intero benefits from their creativity and drive.

How would you describe your experience with the HIP to other companies considering participation?

The Herizon team made the whole process smooth, from the first intro call to uploading projects into the Matcher Platform, everything was clear and easy. For companies, this is an amazing opportunity not only to find motivated and talented people, but also to test out what it means to have international talent in your team. It’s a safe way to explore how your company culture adapts, how communication flows, and how diversity brings new perspectives into everyday work. The interns came in with energy and curiosity that helped us challenge old ways of thinking. For any company wondering about taking the leap toward more diverse teams, HIP is the perfect starting point.

What insights, lessons, or takeaways have you gained from working with Herizon and the interns?

I learned so much! As a new leader, it was my first time guiding such a big team, and it was an incredible journey. My personal goal was that each intern walked away with new skills, memories, and a sense of growth. I wanted them to have an environment where they could bloom, feel safe to be themselves, and know their contributions mattered. What I discovered is that when people are supported and encouraged to be themselves, they don’t just “do the work”; they shine and go the extra mile. That’s been the biggest lesson for me as a leader.

Have you had any success cases during this collaboration that you'd want to share?

Yes, absolutely. Together, we reached Intero’s visibility goals, launched a brand-new website, and even had a major partnership meeting with a large company about supporting the international community. But beyond the concrete results, the real success was how the team worked together. Everyone brought something unique, supported each other, and pushed projects forward in ways that made a real impact. It wasn’t just about ticking off goals, but it was about building something together that we can all be proud of. So I would say that the spirit of collaboration and care was the biggest success of all.
